KDZ in dialogue
Since autumn 2021, KDZ im Dialog has been an ongoing series of events that promotes exchange on various topics in public administration and aims to make them more widely known.
"KDZ in dialogue" deals with current topics of Public Administration reform, governance, urban policy, public finances and federalism and is aimed in particular at managers and employees from public administration, universities and universities of applied sciences, students and interested journalists.
Experts from science and practicioners
At "KDZ in dialogue", KDZ experts discuss with practitioners and scientists from the public sector and offer participants the opportunity to discuss with the experts. You decide whether you want to listen or participate in the discussion.
60 minutes monthly
"KDZ in dialogue" takes place monthly, lasts 60 minutes and is open to all interested parties free of charge.
"KDZ in dialogue" is published as a podcast after the live event.
How to participate
If you like to participate, register via the link announced on our website or in our newsletters. To participate, you will need a laptop/tablet/mobile phone or a stand-alone computer (incl. microphone and loudspeakers or headset), a good internet connection and a current internet browser.

KDZ in dialogue - Local Government Worldwide - Responses to Urban-Rural Challenges
How is local public service delivery organized worldwide? What are currently the greatest challenges and what are possible solutions? Alexandra Schantl (KDZ) and Karl Kössler (EURAC) will discuss these topics highlighting examples from 5 continents and 16 countries recently published by the international LoGov-Network, where KDZ-Centre for Public Administration Research is partner.
The project “Local Government and the Changing Urban-Rural Interplay“ has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (MSCA-RISE) programme and runs from February 2019 to September 2024.

KDZ in dialogue - Megatrends in human resource development of European public administration
25 percent of the workforce in the public administration of EU-countries are older than 55 years. At the same time a new generation of young practitioners enters the scene and confronts the “Human Resource Managers” with new demands on the workplace. The Slovenian EU-Presidency has conducted 2021 two studies which bring new findings for the Human Resource Management (HRM) of the future: “Ageing and Talent Management in European Public Administrations” and “The Impact of the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) on HRM and People“.
Thomas Prorok (KDZ) and Barbara Zupanc (Ministry of Public Administration, Republic of Slovenia) discussed the findings of these studies and the requirements for a future oriented Human Resource Management in public sector in Europe.
