In March, the international network of CAF practitioners exchanged their experiences with the Common Assessment Framework at the 6th online meeting of the Government Office of the Slovak Republic. Tatiana Janečková, Deputy Head of the Government Office of the Slovak Republic, and Peter MINARIK, CAF Methodologist of the Government Office of the Slovak Republic, shared their experiences in the CAF Practitioners Network on how they have used the CAF model to initiate and implement a continuous improvement process and lasting change.
Key learnings:
- A well-established CAF team is a powerful #change agent and a role model that inspires a culture of sharing, innovation and openness in the organisation!
- Changing employee habits and mindsets starts with questioning and developing supportive leadership habits and mindsets - "walk the talk", creating a positive vision, feedback and recognition, etc.!
- With the nationwide network of CAF facilitators, CAF can be implemented efficiently and enables the exchange of best practices between public administrations and different sectors!
- CAF provides an overall picture of the state of the organisation and leads to a common path with clear improvement actions!
- The involvement of external evaluators and experts in the self-assessment process brings valuable external perspectives and new insights into workable solutions for the challenges faced by public administrations!
Many thanks to Tatiana Janečková and Peter MINARIK for their valuable insights and to all participants from so many different countries. The date for the next CAF Practitioners Network is 3 June 2024, 14:30 CET (online), where we will bring more success stories of CAF implementers in front of the curtain!
