Over the past decades, the Danube Region, home to over 115 million people across 14 countries, has achieved notable progress in fostering collaboration and closer ties. However, this region faces growing challenges, including systemic and security threats, economic disparities leading to brain drain, and a rise in illiberal democratic tendencies. Under the Austrian Presidency of the EUSDR, the 11th Danube Participation Day, organized by Foster Europe and PA 10 of the EUSDR, and the 13th EUSDR Annual Forum were held to address these issues. The events focused on deepening regional cooperation to strengthen democracy and good governance. KDZ played a pivotal role, with expert Alexandra Schantl serving as moderator for the Danube Participation Day and as a panelist in the high-level discussion " The Danube Region: Diversity and Integration " at the Annual Forum.
