Municipal Partnerships Forum Austria – Ukraine

The Municipal Partnerships Forum Austria - Ukraine is taking place online on 28 April 2026. This event provides a platform for experts and decision-makers from Austria and Ukraine to exchange ideas. Issues relating to regional development, local self-government and EU cohesion policy will be discussed. The aim is to share best practice from Austria and demonstrate its potential benefits for the development of Ukrainian municipalities.

Particular emphasis will be placed on establishing long-term partnerships between cities and municipalities in both countries. Through concrete examples and the exchange of experiences and new funding opportunities, the aim is to deepen cooperation and strengthen local structures.

Programme highlights:

- Presentations by high-level representatives from Austria, Ukraine and the European Union

- Insights into the practical implementation of regional development and EU cohesion policy in Austria

- Presentation of the A4U Municipal Exchange Fund to support local partnerships

A practical example of successful cooperation between Austrian and Ukrainian municipalities.
