Deadline for A4U Call for Proposals Extended Until 31 May 2026

The Municipal Exchange Fund A4U has extended the deadline for submissions for its current Call for Proposals until 31 May 2026. This extension is in response to requests from municipalities who have highlighted the additional time needed to establish international partnerships and complete internal administrative and political coordination processes.

This additional time is intended to support Austrian and Ukrainian municipalities in preparing comprehensive and well-founded project proposals. The programme promotes cooperation between municipalities in Austria and Ukraine, aiming to strengthen local capacities through knowledge exchange, capacity building, and sustainable local development.

Projects must be jointly developed and implemented by Austrian and Ukrainian municipal partners. The planned project duration is between six and ten months.

Municipalities that do not yet have an established partner municipality are also encouraged to participate. The KDZ Centre for Public Administration Research supports interested municipalities in identifying suitable project partners.

Applications must be submitted by 31 May 2026 to a4ucall@kdz.or.at.

Please note that all application documents must be submitted in English.

The A4U project is implemented by KDZ – Centre for Public Administration Research and funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) as part of International Partnerships Austria and the Austrian Association of Cities and Towns (AACT). A4U forms part of U-LEAD with Europe, a multi-donor initiative of the European Union and its member states: Germany, Denmark, France, Austria, Poland and Slovenia.
