# Danube Governance Conference: A great success!
"Towards European Integration with the SDGs" was the topic of the virtual closing event of the BACID program. Mayor and Governor of Vienna, Michael Ludwig opened the event saying "The SDGs are the right way and this way leads to European Integration." # New publication: Transforming Public Administration with CAF
On the occasion of 20 years of the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) the CAF Centre of KDZ published the book "Transforming Public Administration with CAF".
In four chapters, it provides an overview of how the CAF is contributing to Public Administration Reform an European Integration. About 30 designated CAF experts from academia and practice offer insights into the impact of the CAF in different fields of public sector organisations, reflecting the powerful role of the CAF in navigating through challenging times. Furthermore, this book provides an overview of the institutional status of the CAF in Europe, and it shows the necessary steps for further strengthening the CAF as the number one tool for transformation and quality in the public sector.

# Online conference: CAF 2020 - Towards Public Administration Reform and European Integration
On February 17th we bring CAF experts, academia and all persons interested in the field of quality and change management in public sector together to celebrate the 20th birthday of CAF, to give a forum to the great impact of CAF on public administration reform and discuss perspectives how to further develop the CAF.
The digital CAF-Forum is designed to be an open event dealing with following topics:

# BACID Fund: Inclusive Cities for Local Communities: Revitalizing the vacant spaces in Lezha
The goal of our BACID Fund grantee wonderland – a platform for European architecture was to inspire the municipality Lezha in Albania to utilize dormant potentials of vacancies and learn from examples in Vienna.
The online exchange workshops had participants from public authorities and other relevant stakeholders such as local NGOs, students and experts. The results were a knowledge transfer from Austria to Albania, learnings from best practices on urban development and a tailor-made roadmap for the re-use of existing buildings in a contemporary way.

# Ensuring Resilience of Public Sector organisations with Quality and Risk management
The Covid19 crisis has revealed a lack of risk- and qualitymanagement in many public sector organizations in Europe. PRIMO and KDZ therefore joint forces to offer a comprehensive training and guideline for boosting Public Administration towards a sustainability and resilience especially in future crisis.
The course program is offered in 3 modules:
- Managing Risks and Quality in Public Sector Organizations (general knowledge of frameworks, methods and techniques, corporate perspective)
- From Global to Local: Climate Change and Energy transition – based on the explicit knowledge of PRIMO from the European think tank ‘From Global to Local’
- Tools and methods: Preparing Public Sector Organizations for future Challenges (Design Thinking and Online CAF tools).
