The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw) – in cooperation with the City of Vienna and the Centre for Public Administration Research (KDZ) – cordially invites you to the wiiw Spring Seminar 2025.

This one-day seminar will address key challenges for urban and regional development in Central Europe. Experts from academia, public administration and politics will explore how to strengthen resilience, political trust, and sustainable development across European regions.

Programme Highlights:

  • Keynote speeches by Andrés Rodríguez-Pose (LSE) and Kata Tüttő (President, European Committee of the Regions)

  • Panel discussions on urban renewal, regional resilience, and the future of places “that don’t matter”

  • Presentation of wiiw economic forecasts for Central, East and Southeast Europe

  • Spotlight on Ukraine: Lessons from EU accession and territorial reforms

  • Evening reception at a traditional Viennese wine tavern
