On 05.09.2023, MA 57 (Women's Service of the City of Vienna) was awarded the CAF seal of approval in the presence of Deputy Mayor Kathrin Gaàl, Magistrate Dietmar Griebler, Section Head Christian Kemperle, Secretary General of the Association of Cities and Towns Thomas Weninger and KDZ Managing Director Thomas Prorok. CAF (Common Assessment Framework) is the European guide to good governance and excellence in innovative public sector organisations. The CAF seal of approval is a certification recognised at European and international level and confirms the organisation awarded with it high quality and service orientation as well as efficient administration.
The Women's Service of the City of Vienna, headed by Marion Gebhart, is committed to a gender-equitable society. The focus is on the self-determined and safe lives of girls and women. With the implementation of the Common Assessment Framework, the strengths of the Women's Service became visible. A key strength is its agility and the associated striving for continuous improvement. The constant questioning, also with scientific support, led to an evidence-based development of the Vienna Women's Service and supports the concerns of girls and women in the direction of politics by pointing out facts. The Women's Service also showed a constant willingness to learn from other organisations and is very well networked within the City of Vienna and externally.
Thomas Prorok, Managing Director of the KDZ - Centre for Administrative Research in which the Austrian CAF Centre is located, congratulated the responsible persons of the Frauenservice Wien on the award: "The Frauenserice is a role model for the entire public administration and for its social commitment. The organisation has earned the CAF seal of approval and for this I would like to sincerely thank all those involved for their commitment."
